The Outer Banks is full of so many unexpected surprises, author and native Joe Sledge shares with the reader and every day explorer many of these hidden treasures. Pun intended. Grab a copy of DYST and get out your GPS for a behind the scenes tour of a fascinating ribbon of sand
The book has a oddity rating of 1 to 5 stars for each attraction listed. Odd thing is, there are no 4 or 5 star ratings in entire book. Where's the beef to this yarn?
This just a start of what you can do and see on the OB. Staying south of Whalebone Junction I believe is more interesting
We ran into Joe and his family at The Outer Banks Beachcomber Museum. We quickly learned that he was an author and inquired about his books since my daughter loves to read. We love to find new places to go, things to see, and learn interesting historical facts! I have been going to the OBX for 35 years and have found places I didn't know about and cool things to do all thanks to Joe's book! It's like a scavenger hunt...
