Available for the first time as a standalone eBook novella, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jayne Ann Krentz's Connecting Rooms.
Amy Comfort is a real estate agent on Misplaced Island, a quaint, remote town located off the coast of Washington. When she sells an old Victorian manse to the sultry, sexy Owen Sweet, a private investigator relocating from Seattle, sparks fly from the get-go, though both Amy and Owen decidedly ignore their natural chemistry.
Until, that is, Amy enlists Owen's help in looking into her aunt Bernice's fiance Arthur Crabshaw, who Amy suspects is not what he seems. To keep their cover intact, Amy and Owen pretend to be a lovestruck, newly engaged couple, as they travel to Villantry, Washington, to investigate Arthur. When the mystery surrounding Arthur begins to spin out of control, Amy and Owen must trust in each other to stay alive. But, when the lines between their make-believe courtship and reality begin to blur, will the faux-couple end up with something aside from what they had set out to find?
From a bestselling anthology comes the story of two people looking for answers, who happen upon something they never knew was missing...each other.
Connecting Rooms edition by Jayne Ann Krentz Romance eBooks
Though I am a huge fan of Jayne Ann Krentz, I had somehow missed this novella when it was published many years ago. It was fun to meet Owen Sweet and Amy Comfort. They had both admired each other from afar but, when Amy's aunt gets engaged to a suspicious man, Amy hires Owen to investigate. He is reluctant until Amy suggests that they pose as an engaged couple.I really liked both characters and loved the interaction between the two of them. There were a couple of misunderstandings between them on their way to confessing their love for each other - and one attempted murder. But everything works out for this couple.

Connecting Rooms edition by Jayne Ann Krentz Romance eBooks Reviews
I love Krentz's books however this reissue was clearly written earlier in her career. This story was not one of my favorite Jayne Krentz books. The storyline held no surprises and sadly when it ended I was relieved. I still look forward to the author's recent Krentz books and when she writes as Amanda Quick. I told myself it is only .99 and passable for reading while waiting in store lines book.
Good short story sabot two people who,are trying to get to know each other and the circumstances that change their lives. Mystery and family?
I've read this book originally many years ago and I have a copy on my kindle and I have enjoyed it on several occasions when I am between buying new books.
Loved it. The two main characters had been slowly falling in love every since they met but didn't realize they were loved in return. Didn't suspect the real crook at all. Suspenceful.
I gave this story a four star rating because it had love, mystery, likeable characters, not too long of story and some humor thrown in. I won't be reading it a second time as I do my five star books. It was a nice break between a tense mystery story and a complicated read. I need light sometimes just for enjoyment and this fit the bill.
I'm sure this is a reprint but I don't remember ever reading it before. This is a short story but very enjoyable. Amy Comfort has moved her real estate business to Misplaced island after a bad experience. When she meets Owen Sweet and sells him a fixer upper that may be a money pit she becomes interested in him. However when Amy wants to hire Owen in an official capacity as a PI he refuses, until she threatens to hire someone else.
That's when things get interesting when Owen investigates Amy's aunt's fiance while they pretend to be engaged as a cover. Fun!
CONNECTING ROOMS is a short story about Amy Comfort and Owen Sweet. Amy hires Owen to investigate her aunt's fiance. The two masquerade as an engaged couple. This story is short and there is little in the way of relationship development. The focus of the story is the mystery about the aunt's fiance with some small part about Amy and Owen's relationship. I enjoyed the story and for less than one dollar, I was satisfied, but I'm not likely to read it again.
